Mayor Ciddin was a breath of fresh air when he came to Berbera. But that was compared to the feudal mayors of other cities like Burco and Hargeisa. But things have slowed in the last year, and the new breed of mayors across SL have since shown him up which is a good thing.
What happened to Bada Cagaha Gali inaugurated years ago?
The pedestrian footpath to the beach is still ongoing (Hargeisa has done a lot of footpaths in half the time). Batalaale beach revitalisation inaugurated years ago is painfully slow! Still nowhere for beach goers to sit let alone shade.

Unfortunately Ciddin has become corrupted… not to same level as the corrupted mayors that we have seen before. But much worse than the standard that Mooge is setting today.
Ciddin is said to have amassed lots of money specially in the last year or so as more people start buying land in Berbera.
He won by the skin of his teeth in last year elections. Which should have given him food for thought. A progressive mayor would have made inroads into tourism, energy needs of the city and the cement factory. Don’t even get me started on the badhaasaab of the place and even the deputy all inadequate for the Berbera of 2022.

Covid 19 as the reason things stall is stretching, when the last 9 months Hargeisa experienced an urban renaissance and the corridor built over 90 miles of road and dozens of bridges!

Batalaale beach needs new sand. The beach looks very debilitated of natural beach sand.
Doesn’t help people driving on the beach.

These vloggers are doing so much for the image and horumar /progress of Somaliland. Sadly local media and relevant government
agencies are just too inept and politically motivated to realize the impact of showing the world that you exist and are making progress.
Imagine these guys with an English speaker or even English subtitles and even a script, though I enjoy their of their cuff style.
