A cable car would have made termendous difference in terms of movement of people & goods as well as tourism for local economy. The Erigabo City should apply for funding for that and see if anyone is interested, including Somalilanders - if they establish it as a business enterprise and share profits with investors.

Too close to the only road in these mountains. Could it be a human as source of fire? probably throwing a cigarettes unknowingly igniting the fire.

Very possible. It’s also peak summer very dry so a natural fire is not out of the question.

“Wildfires can be nature’s way of regenerating an ecosystem by killing insects and diseases that damage forests. They also promote new growth, keeping landscapes strong and healthy. Wildfires clear areas of old vegetation and encourage the decomposition of plants, leaving behind space and important nutrients for new plants to feed on”.

Insha Allah it’s contained soon and naturally extinguishes itself.

To be honest for far too long, the government and the world at large has turned a blind eye to Somaliland’s natural and archeological wonders.

The fire seems to have started from the road side and went down hill. Look at the other side of the road, almost no fire affected there. It very much seems like a human as the source of the fire.

The police should inquire about the last vehicle that travelled through this area.
