It is same here in Melbourne where COVID19 was minimum.
Office work as we knew it - is so 19 Century mentality - which is actually rooted in the Industrial era where people had to be at the work site in order to perform work itself, like factory processing or assembling lines.
Glad that COVID19 delivered the change in Corporate thinking in flexible arrangements.
Work itself should be outcomes and results based not time based. An employee could work 4 hours and deliver the same results as someone who is just sitting on the computer all day.
Hopefully Africa and Somaliland in particular can benefit from diaspora and people in general relocating from the west and still retaining their jobs.
