Radio Hargeisa and Somaliland National TV should both be placed under an independent commission similar to the BBC.
This culture of barring the opposition parties from having access to gov’t media is a relic of by-gone era when media was under the complete control of state gov’t. Those days are long gone. Whether you bar the opposition from gov’t media or not, it has next to zero net affect.
So in that sense, I welcome this realisation from the gov’t of Somaliland.
