In the vibrant city of Hargeisa, Somaliland, we designed a new school that combines quality education with cultural and sports amenities. Inspired by the local climate, landscape, and materiality, our design features a harmonious balance between indoor and outdoor spaces.
To regulate harsh sunlight, we used narrow windows and sun breakers, creating comfortable classrooms. Courtyards shaded by the structures provide a peaceful retreat for students. A colonnade on the ground floor connects courtyards to the playing field, fostering community and connectivity.
