Berbera Corridor

I am confused. What is going from timestamp 6:10

Wouldn’t hurt if they draw direction arrows on the entry/exit of the round-about.

The blue Bajaaj went the wrong way around the roundabout then exited into the oncoming traffic lane. Arrows wont make a difference its pure stupidity. Thats why there are countless accidents and deaths on our roads. Imagine when the road is in full flow with lorries its gonna be havoc. They need to introduce insurance as soon as possible.

They need to start acquiring land for a bypass as this will only get worse. The round-about in the middle of town that is gonna grow is not good for high traffic trade corridor.

Hargeisa - Togwachale road seem to have a lot of patching and still there are signs of the road cracking and potholes forming. I understand the soil in this section of the road is more of muddy and moisture in the soil making it expanded or contracting more than the sandy section of the road between Hargeisa and Berbera. However, this should have been taken into account when designing the road. More crashed-rock as bedrock should have been used.

I think this video was taken a while back and the patches are the ones that were remedied. To be honest they threw a lot of engineering on this stretch and they used a lot more materials more than for the rest of the corridor.

It didn’t help they laid the asphalt during the rainy season and the traffic started using it before the tarmac was ready. So it was inventible there would be settling. The road is warrantied for a year I think. Luckily this road is about15 km only, and they are now on the bit that goes to Wajaale town which they are taking their time on after what happened.
